Mrs. Flora Barney, wife of Joseph Barney, died on August 2, from consumption, at her home near the Baptist church, three miles north of Hancock, in her 23rd year. She was a daughter of William E. Maxwell. Within the past few years, the mother and only brother of the deceased, died from the same disease, besides her husband, a little child survives. Interment was made Saturday in the Presbyterian burying ground at Warfordsburg with services by Rev. J. C. Starr.
