Richard "Ricky" Lee Adams, Jr., 31, native of Gadsden, Ala, joined the US Marine Corps following graduation in 1999. He served in the reserves proudly for eight years where he was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received various commendations and Marine Corps Achievement medals, including: Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal. He was honorably discharged on November 18, 2007.
