Mike was the eldest son of the late Vernon Darrell Acree and Elizabeth Penny Acree. On April 3, 1938 in Washington, DC, he married his beloved wife.

Mr. Acree served in the United States Army during World War II and worked for over 40 years in many capacities in the United States Government, most recently serving as the Commissioner of the US Customs Service from 1972-1977. He later owned and operated a consulting business, as well as a restaurant in Fairfax, VA.

Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 75 years, four children, one sister, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
