Carl B. Acree was born in Blue Hill, Neb., April 5, 1887, and departed this life at his home near Courtland, Kan., June 6, 1959, at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 1 day.

He was married December 15, 1912, to Ruth Kieffer of Chambersburg, Penn. Seven children were born to this union:
Hubert Acree, Lake Tahoe, Cal.
Robert Acree, San Francisco, Cal.
Ronald Acree, Redondo Beach, Cal.
Mrs. Thelma Mattock, Lonicta. Cal.
Mrs. Christine Merritt, Lake Tahoe, Cal.
Mrs. Esther Blachwood, 29 Palms, Cal.
Harlan Acree U.S. Coast Guard, Long Beach, Cal.

Mr. Acree farmed nearly all of this life at Wathena, Kan., moved to Scandia, Kan., in 1925, farmed there and moved to Courtland, Kan., in 1951.

He was baptized and a member of the Methodist church at Wathena, Kan.

Survivors are his wife, seven children, six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Hubbard,
and Mr. Edith Cook, Hamilton, Mo.; one brother, Clif ford Acree Wathena, Kan.; two nieces Mrs. Ernest Erickson, Court-land, Kan., and Mrs. Clarence Swanson, Lovewell, Kan.

Memorial services were held at the Methodist church in Courtland Wednesday, June 10, at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. G. R. Alsobrooks.
Interment was in the Courtland cemetery.
