James Carl "Jim" Bevels was the first son of James William "Willie" Bevels and his wife, Mary Sue "Mollie" Bevels Bevels. [His parents were cousins and both had the surname of BEVELS.]

James Carl "Jim" Bevels had an older sister, Maude Bee. His younger siblings were: Tishie Lue, Nishie E., Verna L. "Vernie", Mary Addie "Mae", Icy Caldonia "Icie", Annie Bell, Leona, Erskine Browning, Elizabeth "Lizzie", Infant Bevels (born and died in April 1908), and William Elisha.


James Carl Bevels was married to Bell Mitchell (1883-1941).

James Bevels and Miss Bell Mitchell of Bunkerhill were married at Bryson Sunday,[Sep. 11, 1910] just before the morning service, Rev. G.H. Turpin officiating. The many friends of this popular and deserving young couple wish them well.
