Known as Pink by family and friends, Julia was born to Thomas A. Allen and Julia Ann Allen nee' Murff. She was 5 days old when her mother died of what used to be called child-bed fever.

She was raised by her father and step-mother. On 27 Mar 1903, she married Charles Lee Silivent (Sullivan) in Gregg Co., Texas. She moved from the 'Free State' to Dallas, Texas in 1929 following the Stock Market Crash. She was a homemaker, and had a natural musical talent. Her instrument of choice was the organ. She only had to listen to a song one time, and she could play it by ear on her beloved organ. She was married to Charlie Lee Sullivan for over 50 years and raised three daughters and one son.
