He was the son of Zella Louise Cunning Dix Hunter and his step-father was Lester Hunter. Harlan was a graduate of Perry Rural High School in Perry, Kansas.
Harlan was a resident of the Kansas City area for the past 45 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #41 for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Hunter. Harlan is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty J. Dix of the home; brother, Jerry, of Kansas City, Kansas; plus, many other family and friends.
