Andrew was a carpenter; born in Hilton Head, SC. He enlisted in Hilton Head, SC on Jun 19, 1863 at the
age of 42; 5'9" tall. Died of smallpox on Feb 18, 1866 in Hilton Head, SC; buried on Hilton Head, SC

Andrew was later reburied in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC, gravesite 30-3093. He married Teena at Braddocks Pt, Hilton Head, SC (b. 1833) in the winter of 1848 by Parson Richards, a Baptist minister. They were slaves of William Baynard at the time of their marriage.

According to Teena's affidavit:
when she was about 10 years old her master moved her and other slaves to a plantation he owned near
Braddock Point in Hilton Head, SC. About 2 years thereafter, her master bought Andrew in Savannah, GA
and brought him to Braddocks Pt Plantation in Hilton Head, SC.
