Mr. James William Alford, age 80 of Black Island Road passed away December 30, 2013 at McLeod Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Mr. Alford was born May 22, 1933 a son of the late Alex Alford and the late Ruby Richardson Alford. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Mr. Alford was predeceased by one son, James William Alford Jr, and one brother, Hubert Alford. Mr. Alford is survived by his wife Mrs. Geraldine Reynolds Alford of the home, one son, Hollis Duane Alford of Seneca, SC, two daughters, Belinda Hucks and her husband Kenneth, Gloria Ann Todd and her husband Legrand, all of Galivants Ferry, two brothers, Jerry Alford of Conway, David Alford of Galivants Ferry, four sisters, Nora Hyman, Mayomia Gunter, Nell Todd, all of Galivants Ferry, Mary Altman of Conway, four grandchildren, Tim Hucks of Aynor, Stacy Freeman of Galivants Ferry, Holly Alford of Seneca, Jonathan Alford of Green Sea, and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday January 1, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday January 2, 2014 at Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jane Pearce and Rev. Ray Cribb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
