She and her family moved to Athens county, Ohio, and lived on a farm there until she and her husband came to Elkhart Co., Indiana, where she died at the age of 51.
Sarah and Peter reared a family of children, of whom Nancy Phillips Deshler 1797–1874, Wilson Phillips 1801–1860 , John Phillips 1802–1872, Samuel Phillips 1804–1882 and Margaret Phillips Watkins 1813–1884 are the only ones remembered.
Her final resting place is in the Clinton Union Cemetery, Millersburg, Elkhart, Indiana.
