Carl served his nation in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam wars where he received several commendations for his abilities to go beyond the call of duty. He was involved in multiple NASA programs including involvement in the success of the Apollo 12 Lunar Landing. He received his bachelor's degree in education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He was then employed by Lakeview and Norman Oklahoma Schools where he taught what he loved, Science. In the 1980's he labored in the Oil & Gas Industry starting as a rough neck and progressing to Lead Electrician for Nicor Drilling. Upon moving to Texas he contributed to the success of the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Facility in Glen Rose. He enjoyed family time, reading, science, aviation, and his church family.
Carl is preceded in death by his father William K. Anderson of McAlester Oklahoma mother Pearl A. Wade and sister Betty Lane of Sumter, South Carolina and son John C. Anderson of Norman Oklahoma.
Carl is survived by his wife Penny Waldron Anderson; his brother William Anderson; and sister Phyllis Zimmerman; as well as five of his children; Debbie L. Anderson Panik (Greg Panik), Kathy L. Anderson Walters (Cary Walters), Carl Wayne Anderson II (Danna B. Anderson), Trisha L. Anderson Burden, and Susan J. Anderson Broyles (Scott Broyles), and step-daughter Michele Maurin. Carl is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as may other relatives and friends.
