Mrs. Janes Agnes (Beveridge) Botsford, 82, widow of Rev. Chauncey R. Botsford, former residents, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Miss Jane E. Botsford, Havre de Grace.
Rev. and Mrs. Botsford lived about 30 years in Cumberland while he was a pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Botsford has been residing with her daughter since 1956.
Mrs. Botsford was the first president of the Cumberland Council of Church Women and while residing here had served as conference president of the United Lutheran Church Women of the Central Pennsylvania Synod. She also held membership in McKinley Chapter, Order Eastern Star. Since moving from Cumberland, Mrs. Botsford held membership in St. John's Church, Aberdeen.
Surviving, besides the daughter with whom she resided, are a son, Keith Botsford, Nescopeck, Pa.; three other daughters, Miss Marion Botsford, at home; Mrs. Essex Wagner, Front Royal, Va., and Mrs. Frances Roll, Fairfield, Calif., 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The body will be returned here Saturday at 11 a.m. and be taken to St. John's Church for services at 2 p.m. Rev. Dr. J. Frank Fife, president of the Maryland Synod, will officiate, assisted by Rev. Edward Austin and Rev. John Austin, father and son co-pastors of St. John's Church of Aberdeen.
Internment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery and pallbearers will be George Fey, Kirk Lathrum, James Weber, Raymond Hahne, Howard Hoyle and Frederick Squires.
