Virginia Inez Collier, 79, of Pine Ridge, KY, passed away Saturday, November 8, 1997 at the Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
She was born April 4, 1918 in Wolfe County, KY, the daughter of Greely C. Cable and Lula Mae Hobbs. She ran a general store at Pine Ridge, worked at Loma Manufacturing in Winchester, KY and also worked for KY River Head Start in Campton. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors are her husband, Austin Collier; one son, Edward Collier and daughter in law Mary Sonya of Pine Ridge; one grandson, George Collier; one granddaughter Regene Tolson, four great grandchildren, Zachary and Pierce Collier and Aaron and Lauren Tolson, all of Pine Ridge; one sister, Marvella Alexander, Pine Ridge, one niece, Phyllis Aymx, Campton, KY; and one nephew, Marvin Alexander, Campton, KY.
Funeral services for Virginia Inez Collier were held Tuesday, November 11, 1997 at 2 p.m. in the Shackelford Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Strong and Rev. Adam Hays officiating. Burial was in the Collier family Cemetery at Pine Ridge, KY.
