Jack Campbell was a very devout Catholic and remained so till his death. He attended St. John’s Catholic Church in downtown Tuscaloosa and while he was in Vicksburg attended St. Paul’s Catholic Church where his mother was the secretary for Monsignor Pendergast until his death. He came from the Woodley family of Montgomery who were very well known and were the beginning family of owners who started the town of Montgomery Alabama.
