Constance Muriel Banks was the youngest child of Thomas and Margaret Banks; I have just added their pages to this site after finally receiving some solid information about this branch of our family. I knew only the details of Edward Francis Banks' death (Thomas and Margaret's only son, and Constance's brother); I now realize that there were six daughters in this family, and I am trying to verify information and add memorial pages for each of them to this site.

Constance seems to have moved to Australia; however, I do not know when and under what circumstances at this time. Her memorial stone states "In loving memory of a dear wife and mother. Constance Muriel Banks. Died 27th Aug, 1967. She loved others more than herself.", but again, I do not know surviving family member information at this time, etc. I do not see her married name on the stone in the photograph, but as many of my site friends know, I am losing my vision, and so perhaps I am missing the obvious, or Constance divorced, etc. during her lifetime. I will continue to research Constance, as well as seek photographs, etc. - I would appreciate ANY input on this lovely lady's life and times, whatsoever!

Note: A very brief notation in paperwork on Constance states that she inherited money around 1927 (a substantial amount is listed, too - I note this so that other researchers will think to check threads such as property owning, charitable donations, etc.); although the person who willed it to Constance (as well as the same amounts to her sisters Annie and Agnes), is not named, there is notation of the names Lanyon Thornton and John Jolm Robinson, if this thread gives anybody something to go on. How the sisters are related to these individuals, if at all, is unknown at this time.

There is also a possible connection to the Broughton, Manchester area for Constance.

Constance died in Melbourne, Australia on August 27, 1967; she is buried at Melbourne General Cemetery.
