Armstrong officiated at the grave, and Mr Charles Morris carried out the funeral arrangements. The funeral of Mrs Hannah Canny, wife of Mr Patrick Canny, one of the oldest farmers and residents of Spring Bank (Ormond) district, took place yesterday, when her remains were followed to their last resting place in the Gordon Cemetery by a very large number of friends and acquaintances, the procession numbering 75 private vehicles and a number of horsemen. Messrs T. Cusack, F. Blood. T. Clohesy, and J. Linehan acted as coffin-bearers, and the pall-bearers were Messers Jas. Hayden. J.P., J. B. Hayden, Geo. Blood, H. Whelehan, B. McGowan. P. Bourke, Cr L. Lee, S. Conroy, J. McGrath, P. Croagh, D. O'Keeffe, W. Clohesy, S. Breene, P. Cusack, J. McDermott, and C. Conroy. Service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. Father Cusack, assisted by the Rev Father O'Brien, and the mortuary ar-rangements were carried out by Mr Steve Wellington.

Faith Chinnery, her husband Robert and their son James (who died of typhoid fever in South Africa while serving in the South African War) are each memorialized on the stone that I first researched because of a distant relative's information. My relative Mary Banks is noted at the 'top' of the stone, but I am not certain whether this is for a reason...Faith and Robert seem to have made certain to note their son's loss on this stone, although he was interred in South Africa.

Again, TY to Judy Holman - Crook: her research now shows how the Chinnery line crossed with the Banks', something that I had been unable to discern.
