Phillip Eugene Morlang was born to Abraham and Clara (Herron) Morlang at their home two miles north of Norden, Nebraska on October 16, 1928. He graduated from eighth grade.
Phillip married Betsy Lou Harp on December 3, 1950 in Ainsworth, Ne. They made their home in the Norden area where they farmed and ranched. This union was blessed with three children.
Phillip served on the Keya Paha County Fair Board for a number of years and was a lifetime member. He was a member ot the New Apostolic Church of Ainsworth. He enjoyed going to Norden dances, playing cards with family and friends, and playing pool. He also enjoyed custom farming, especially picking corn, and baby calves, dogs and cats, especially Snuff and Peaches.
Phillip passed away April 14, 2006 at Parkside Manor Nursing Home in Stuart, Ne at age 77 years. His parents, Abraham and Clara Morland,, wife Betsy, and brother Rudy Morland preceded him in heath.
He is survived by childre: Roger and wife Mickey of Brady, Ne, Deb Turner and husband Bill of Valentine, and Janette Rowan and husband Brad of Atkinson; grandchildren Heath Morland, and fiancee Breann, Rhett and Shannon Morland, Mandi Morrison and husband Mike, Lucinda Turner and boyfriend Doug Henning, Amy Johnson and husband Mike, Mindy Rowan and fiance Shelton Crouch, and Tom Rowan. Also surviving are brothers George Lee Morland and wife Beth, and sister Louise Peterson and husband Melvin.
Funeral service for Phillip Morland was held Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Chapel of the Pines, Rev. Doug Gueceler officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.
Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of arrangements.
