Ruther Dresser, Leavenworth, a retired school teacher, died today, Sept. 1, 1994, at Cushing Hospital. She was 92.

Mrs. Dresser was born June 3, 1902, in Farley, the daughter of Charles and Katherine Carson Brightwell. She moved with her family in 1904 to Leavenworth, where she attended schools.

She married William Dresser on June 26, 1926, in Leavenworth. He died in 1977.

Mrs. Dresser taught at the Wallula School near Piper for six years and later at Anthony School.

She was a life member of the Eastern Star and was a past worthy matron of the Byington Chapter. She was a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She belonged to the First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Church Women.

Survivors include a sister, Bessie Morris, Winchester; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Fun eral Chapel afte 2 P.m. Friday. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Services will begin a 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Harold Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of the High Paririe Tabernacle Church.
