Cpl. D. Laster Dies of Wounds On Leyte Isle
Overseas Three Years---In Corps of Engineers---From McLouth
Cpl. Donald B. Laster, 27 years old, died October 31 from wounds suffered in action on Leyte Island in the Philippines, according to a letter from the War department received by his mother, Mrs. Sophia Laster of McLouth.
A member of a Corps of Engineers unit, he had been overseas three years. He was born and attended school in McLouth and he was inducted at Fort Leavenworth.
Another son, Pvt. August Laster, now is serving in France.
