Dorothy J. Beatty Betts Ach, 82, of Fairmont, died Monday (July 7, 1997) at her home.
She was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Charleroi, Pa., daughter of the late James W. and Elizabeth Jane Walker Beatty.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary No. 2373, past president of District No. 3, past state president and past president of the Mid Atlantic Region of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 629 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed humanitarian projects.

She is survived by a daughter with whom she lived, Toni DeMoss of Fairmont; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Marie and Hershal Fortney of Forrest, Va.; a sister, Elizabeth Karnafel of Cleveland; five granddaughters, Deborah Jones, Barbara Johnson, Kelley Lambiotte, Bonnie Lipscolm and Kathleen Jones; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Betts in March, 1949; her second husband, Steve Ach on Jan. 12, 1996; four brothers, James, Clyde, Robert and Wilbur Beatty; and four sisters, Virginia Willis, Jessie Layman, Alice Merrill and Mary Beatty.

Friends may call at the Frey Home for Funerals today from 1-9 p.m. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Frank Spevock officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery. The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary No. 2373 will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
