WILLIAM EASTERDAY DIED AT BUTLER AT AGE OF 83


Funeral services for William H. Easterday, 83, who resided at 124 West Main street, Butler, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral home in Butler.

The Rev. Thomas Mellott, pastor of the Butler EUB circuit, officiated at the services and burial was in the Butler cemetery.


Mr. Easterday died at his home at a.m. Saturday from cancer. He had been in poor health for the past three years.


He was born in Steuben county on Feb. 14, 1880, but had resided in Butler and the Butler area nearly all of his lifetime.


On March 15, 1910, in a ceremony performed in Auburn, he and Edna Ellen Bunce were united in marriage.


Mr. Easterday was a retired New York- Central railroad employe.


Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Ford Herrick and Mrs. Dan Jones of Butler and Mrs. Estil Taylor of St. Joe; two sons, Willard Easter- day of Indianapolis and Calvin Easterday of 302 North Van Buren street, 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
