Born on a farm to George and Gertrude Crump. When she turned 18 she headed out-- west to San Francisco and met Larry E Cain. In 1952 they moved to San Diego because of their Military life. They purchased a home in 1959 and remained there. Gene and Larry loved to dance--cut the rug, play scrabble with their friends until the early hours and were patrons of the VFW and American Legion. She was a fine seamstress and an avid bowler at Kearny Mesa Bowl and her and her daughter competed in Regional and State tournaments until she was 84 years of age.
