Richard (Dick) passed away Thursday June 13th 2013. He was 81. He was born and raised in St. Mary's, Ohio and after high school he attended Photography School in Detroit Michigan. Dick joined the Air Force in 1951 as a Photographic Technician and served in the Korean War. He moved his family to Portland in 1955 and became a member of the pioneering TV News team at KGW-8 Television as a news cameraman. He then transitioned into Video Production Sales where he spent the latter part of his career. Dick enjoyed spending time with his circle of family and friends including fishing and golf outings.

Dick is survived by his former wife, Jane, daughter Debbie Fincham (Joe), son Kirk Althoff (Mary), daughter Lisa Beattie (Bruce) and grandchildren, Sarah Beattie, Jacob Beattie and Aaron Althoff.

The family thanks Mirela and Constantin Gavojdea of Grant Home Care for their compassionate care of Dad.

A Graveside service, with reception following, will be held Friday June 28th, 11:00 a.m. at River View Cemetery, 0300 SW Taylors Ferry Road, Portland.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oregon Food Bank.
