Luca Assante, age 6, of Annapolis died on November 6 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Baltimore on June 20, 2007, Luca attended South Shore Elementary School. Luca was the special, strong boy from the Love for Luca organization. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raimondo Lubrano. Luca is survived by his parents, Vincenzo and Lucy of Annapolis; a brother, Vincenzo Pio of Annapolis; two sisters, Isabella and Gabriella, both of Annapolis; and his grandparents, Geraldine of Annapolis and Pasquale and Carmela of Naples, Italy. Friends are invited to Luca's Life Celebration from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, November 11 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30am on Tuesday, November 12 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 Bestgate Rd., Annapolis.
