DOROTHY "Dot" McCOY HILL was born 20 JUN 1947, in Tupelo, Mississippi to John Teague "JT", Jr. and Clara "Irene" McCoy. Dot was raised in Hughes, Arkansas and graduated from the University of Mississippi where she was head majorette and feature twirler. Dot dated Archie Manning while they were both attending Ole Miss.

Dot was pursuing a career in dance when she met and married music minister, Richard "Dick"
Hill. Dick and Dot married on 18 DEC 1971 in Hughes, Arkansas, with a beautiful reception at the Keller's home. They were married for 37 years during which time they served faithfully together in great churches in Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and Louisiana. Dot choreographed all the productions presented by the music ministries in the churches where they served. She also was a personal representative for Premier Designs, Inc. the company she loved so much.

Out of all her accomplishments, her greatest joy was found in the godly lives that her daughters, Ashley and Alison live. She was so proud of them and loved them beyond measure. They are today reflections and reminders of all that she chose to be. She adored their husbands and children.

Dot suffered eight years of decline in her body from the effects of Celiac Disease but her spirit never suffered.

Celiac disease is a genetic disease and it passed to Dot on the Dyer side of the family. None of the McCoy family has Celiac or complications from the disease.

Dot is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Hill, daughter Ashley Smith, husband Clint and children Chandler, Shelby and Anna Grace, daughter Alison Shepherd, husband Matthew and children Eli and Mary Kate. She is also survived by her mother, Irene McCoy, sister, B. J. Saunders and husband Rick, and brother, John Dyer McCoy. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jone Franco, husband Rueben and sons Bucky and Robert Garrett. Dot is preceded in death by her father, John Teague McCoy, Jr. and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Judy Hill.

The family will receive friends at Klein Funeral Home-Champions from 5-8pm, Wednesday. Visitation for out of town guests will be from 1-2pm, Thursday at Champion Forest Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2pm. Interment will be at Klein Memorial Park-FM2920. Published in Houston Chronicle from 1 SEP 2008 to 2 SEP 2008.

For those who desire, memorial gifts should be made to Champion Forest Baptist Church, Christmas Production, 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd., Houston, TX 77069.
