The death of Louise Mearl "Fannie" McCoy Williams, not Louis Pearl McCoy Williams, was noted in the John Teague McCoy Sr. Family Bible, however there was no date of entry. However, this entry was the first entry after John Teague McCoy Sr.'s death 19 FEB 1921. The name Louise Mearl McCoy is also listed in chronological Births as this correct spelling.

The name on this memorial is based on the McCoy family Bible and 1900 Census of the John T. McCoy household, based in Pontotoc, MS, Town 8, Roll 825, Range 3, Beat 1, dated 4 JUN 1900, by Daniel Pitt.

I received a death certificate from Rudy Caldwell and the name on the death certificate is Louie Pearl Williams. My theory that there is a Louise and she could be "Uncle Jeff's daughter" which would mean the father's name on the death certificate would also be a J McCoy. I don't know Jeff's middle name, more research is need to clarify Mearl's name and the match of Mr. Caldwell's death certificate. The birthdate for Louise Pearl McCoy and Mearl Fannie McCoy are five years different. It could be possible that in the time of stress, the husband got the birth date wrong on the death certificate.

Age 35, married, housewife.
Father J.T. McCoy Mother maiden: U.K. (actual Jennie Pitts McCoy IF JT is John Teague) more research needed
Born: Mississippi 1886

Information given by H.T. Williams, husband
1209 Cummings Filed: 09 SEP 1921

Place of death: St. Joseph Hospital, Memphis TN

Contributory: Child Birth; 14 days in the hospital before death
