Hattie M. Perkins-Little, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was born on April 26, 1941 in Greenville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Cora Perkins-Jacob and Purdy Lofton and foster parents Cesar and Louvenia Little. She attended Elizabeth City State College, Norwalk Community College and graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She became a member of Woodside AME Zion Church, Stamford, CT. where she served in many capacities for thirty five years. After Woodside's closing she joined the Saint Francis AME Zion Church in Mt. Kisco, NY where she served on the Steward Board, Missionary Society and President of the Home Mission Society. She was a fourth generation Zionite. Hattie was the past financial secretary of the Hudson River District, WH&OM Society and past Registrar of the Westchester District WH&OM Society. She was formerly employed with CTE where she held positions as Counselor at the Domus Foundation, Nutrition Coordinator for the Summer Lunch Program for the City of Stamford and Director of Domus Foundation. She was superintendent and Managing Agent of the Glenbrook Road Condo for twenty four years until retirement. Hattie was the proud mother of one son; Cromer Haigler III and his wife Chery Bennett-Haigler of Stamford, CT., three grandchildren Cromer Haigler IV, Amber Haigler and Brandon Haigler, four sisters; Annie Adams of Greenville, NC, Geraldine McCloud and Doris Davis of Philadelphia, PA, Linda Perkins- Devine of Louisville, KY, three brothers; Johnnie, James and Donald Perkins all of Philadelphia, PA, her godmother Barbara Ivler and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews , cousins and friends. She was also predeased by her godfather William Ivler, two sisters and two brothers.
