Longtime Hartford, CT radio & television broadcaster. He started with WTIC Radio in 1952. He did various spots from being Bob Steele's newsman, to hosting STRICTLY SPORTS. He covered many UCONN games as well as the Greater Hartford Golf Tournament. On television, he was best know for hosting THE HAP RICHARDS SHOW on WTIC-3 from 1957 to 1974. The show aired every weekday morning from 9am to 9:15am. On the show, Richards played 2 characters: 1)Hap Richards, the Mayor of Joyville and 2)Uncle Henry Tibbets, the Postmaster. After leaving broadcasting, Richards went on to work in Corporate Communications as well as academia.
