Phyllis Marie Barrett Akers formerly of Dallas, TX passed away July 11, 2010 in Boerne, Texas. Phyllis is survived by daughter Kristi Rambo and her husband V.L. of Boerne, TX, beloved granddaughter, Victoria Rambo of Houston, TX, daughter Hattie Barham and her husband Bill of Utopia, TX, son Chuck Akers and his wife Michelle of Dallas, TX. sister Linda McWhorter of Tyler, TX. She was born on October 23, 1933 in Ft. Worth, Texas to David Wesley and Mary Lillian Barrett. She was a graduate of Gaston High School in Joinerville, TX and attended Kilgore Jr. College, where she was captain of the 1951 Kilgore Rangerettes. She retired from the Dallas County Probate Courts and The Summerlee Foundation of Dallas, she also spent many years working for the North Texas Gun Club. Phyllis was a wonderful mother, grandmother and avid University of Texas football and baseball fan. She will be missed by her family and friends. A private memorial service in Austin, TX is being planned at a later date. Memorials may be made to vistacare.com in Kerrville, TX.
