Vernon William Moore, a Chunky, Lauderdale County, Mississippi native was a simple man who moved with his family to the Stewart community of Covington, GA off Hwy. 36 approximately 1947. He was a Mississippi farmer, a logger in Oregon, and worked hard all his life. He owned a Gulf gas station in Covington and was the husband of Opal Corrine (Eason) Moore. They had (6) children: Charles, Sara, Willie, Peggy, Patricia "Sis", and James Arthur "Buster". He died at age 44 1/2.
