Civil War Union Soldier. He served during the Civil War first as a Private in Company F, Pennsylvania Emergency Troops, then as a Private in Company C, 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery. He was mustered in on July 2, 1863, and was mustered out on September 18, 1865.
His father, Private John S. Abdill, served in the same company as him.
He had two sons, Frederick Abdill (lived in Chester, Pennsylvania circa 1920) and Harry Abdill (lived in Burlington circa 1920).
