Rosa Mae was born in North Carolina and was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse James and Viola Bradley Vincent; her children, Mary Ann Adams, Rosa Lee Adams, Willie R. Adams, Jr., and Shirley Mae Adams. She was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Ava J. Adams, Vanessa J. Adams, Charlotte D. Adams; step daughter, Willie Mae Harris; honorary daughter, Sylvia (Alan) Artz, all of Suffolk; one son, Jimmy L. Adams (Brenda) of Newport News; two sisters, Lorraine Williams and Louise Vincent; five brothers, Clifton Vincent, Theodore Vincent, Elmer Vincent, Earl Vincent, and Garland Vincent. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Willie R. Adams, III, Thomas Adams, Cynthia Drayton, Joseph Whitehead, Brian Adams, Marilyn Adams, Frederick Adams, Lasandra Adams (Shawn), and Christopher Avery, Jr.; and a host of great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
