Newspaper cartoonist for 45 years. Ahern was the creator of Major Hoople, in the cartoon, "Our Boarding House." He drew the cartoon for News Enterprise Assn. from 1914 until 1936. He then joined King Features Syndicate, where he drew the cartoon, Judge Puffle, until his retirement in 1958.
