Canadian religious figure. Auxiliary bishop of Montréal. A native of Montréal (Québec), he was ordained to the priesthood on May 31, 1947. On February 8, 1971, he was named titular bishop of Monte di Numidia and appointed auxiliary bishop of Montréal. Next March 24, he received his episcopal consecration. He played a key role in the evolution of education in Quebec and was a strong proponent of interfaith dialogue. He served on a number of episcopal commissions including Christian education, canon law, social communications, ecumenism, and was also a member of the program and priorities committee. He retired from active ministry on March 26,1997. He passed way in Montréal.
