Mary Dillon Abadie passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at her home in Baton Rouge surrounded by her family. She was 76, born Nov. 3, 1932, to Shell Eugene Dillon and Dillie Burch Dillon in the Star Hill community of Washington Parish. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Walter Abadie; daughter, Rebecca Adams; and son, George Gregory Abadie and wife Detra "Dee Dee" Abadie, all of Denham Springs. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Mary Michel Adams; two grandsons, Kenneth Gregory Abadie and Jonathan Matthew Abadie, all of Denham Springs; a nephew, Michael Tham and wife Susan, of Baton Rouge; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Essie Lea Smith and husband T.G. Smith, Effie Dunaway and husband Luther Dunaway, Amy Baudoin and husband Robby Baudoin and Eva Tham; brother, Shell Eugene Dillon; and infant sister, Betty Jo Dillon. She was a loving and caring wife and mother who will be missed by all who knew her. She was a retired state employee with 29 years of service with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety, Office of State Police. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Nov. 24, from noon until religious service at 2 p.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. .
