The deceased lady whose maiden name was Anchrum, was born in Cork, Ireland, came to this country in 1840, was married in Washington City, from whence she removed with her husband to Cumberland, Md., thence to Sand Patch, and finally to Loretto, where her son Charles had previously died while a student at St. Francis College. She was consoled in her last moments by the last sacraments of the Catholic Church, of which she was a life-long and consistent member, and also by the presence of several of the good Sisters of Mercy, who prayed for and ministered to her in her dying moments. She was a faithful wife and mother, a devoted friend and kind neighbor, and it is to be hoped that she has been found worthy of a blessed immortality. Cumberland papers please copy.

"Third. I give my house and three lots of ground in the town of Loretto to St. Francis College to be rented yearly perpetual the rent to be applied to the education of one boy whom the Roman Catholic Pastoral Loretto may choose from among his parishioners, who will agree to become a Priest, and when that one will be ordained then another boy to be chosen in the same manner and so to continue. If at any time the school at Saint Francis College should cease then in that case the Rent of said House and lots shall go to the Bishop of the diocese in which this place shall be, to be applied to as before mentioned. The bequest of the house and lots is made that I and my husband Thomas shall be buried alongside of our Son in the grave yard now at Saint Francis College Loretto."
