Josephine was born to Michele Spiccia Sr.and Carmella Marie Mola Spiccia on September 3, 1934 in East Chicago, Indiana.

She was married to her husband Ugo for 51 years.

She spent many years working in the family business at the Spiccia's Restaurant, in Whiting, Indiana.

Josephine was a member of the Italian American Women's Club, Daughters of Isabella.

She started in real estate working for Ennis Realty and in time became top seller in the area for about three years in a row. She then became a broker and owner of Arrighi Real Estate and a member of the Real Estate Board of North West Indiana.

She and her husband, Ugo Arrighi, were owners of several apartment complexes in Northwest Indiana.

Josephine played piano and wrote some of her own music.

She is Entombed in the mausoleum in the Calumet Park Cemetery.

Obit: Josephine M. Arrighi (nee Spiccia), age 73, of Hammond, IN, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in East Chicago, IN on September 3, 1934. Josephine was a resident of Hammond, IN for many years and was planning to move to her new home in Crown Point, IN. She spent many years assisting and involved in the family business, Spiccia's Restaurant, in Whiting, IN. Josephine was a member of the Italian American Women's Club, Daughters of Isabella. She started in real estate working for Ennis Realty and in time became top seller in the area for about three years in a row. She then became a broker and owner of Arrighi Real Estate and a member of the Real Estate Board of NW Indiana. She and her husband, Ugo Arrighi, were owners of several apartment complexes in Northwest Indiana. Josephine enjoyed reading and had a great knowledge of many things. She loved art, law and music. Josephine played piano and wrote some of her own music. She was a great cook. Josephine is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ugo Arrighi; loving sister and best friend, Carmelina Spiccia; brother, Michael (Linda) Spiccia, Jr.; loving niece, Patricia Spiccia; and several aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents: Carmella and Mike Spiccia, Sr.; and special aunt, Angela Mola. Josephine will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends may call Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Matthias Church, 101 West Burrell, Crown Point, IN with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass. Entombment will be Friday in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice in her loving memory.
