On March 10, 1935 at St. Francis Xavier Church in La Grange, Illinois he married Maria Carmen Morones. With her they had Four Children: Petra, Cristina, Joeann and John Francis.
On July 4, 1947 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico he married Esperonza Jimenez. With her they had Five Children: Delores, Johnny, Linda, Hope and Victor.
Jose passed away at home on Friday, September 7, 2007. He was 3 months shy of his 101st birthday!

Jose will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Jose was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. as a young man in hopes of finding his dream. In his younger days, Jose was an amateur boxer and saxophone player in Chicago. Jose worked in construction for the the railroad and as a Steelworker, retiring from Inland Steel Company. Jose was a giving and loving husband, father and grandfather who blessed his family with his long life full of love, honor and dignity. Jose will be dearly missed for his heart of gold and compassion of others. Donations may be made to Hospice of Calumet in his loving memory.
