Jose was born on December 1, 1906 to Victoriano Carrillo and Teresa Maldonado Carrillo in Mexico.

On March 10, 1935 at St. Francis Xavier Church in La Grange, Illinois he married Maria Carmen Morones. With her they had Four Children: Petra, Cristina, Joeann and John Francis.
On July 4, 1947 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico he married Esperonza Jimenez. With her they had Five Children: Delores, Johnny, Linda, Hope and Victor.
Jose passed away at home on Friday, September 7, 2007. He was 3 months shy of his 101st birthday!

Jose was preceded in death his First wife Maria Carmen Morones and his children: John Frances, Christina Carrillo and Patsy Lebron-Martinez.

Obit: Jose Carrillo Hammond, IN Jose "Pork Chop" Carrillo age 100 of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 7, 2007. Jose is survived by his devoted wife, Esperanza and adoring family, two sons: John and Victor Carrillo of Hammond, IN; four daughters: Joeann Mojarro of East Chicago, IN, Delores Scott of Hammond, IN, Linda and Hope Carrillo of Hammond, IN; 28 beloved grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. Jose was preceded in death by his loving daughters: Patsy Lebron, Christina Carrillo and son, John Frances Carrillo. Friends may visit with the family at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 5840 Hohman Ave., Hammond, IN on Sunday, September 9, 2007 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at Burns-Kish Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. with a mass of Christian burial at All Saints Church, 570 Sibley Blvd., Hammond, IN, September 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Stephen Kosinski officiating. Jose will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Jose was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. as a young man in hopes of finding his dream. In his younger days, Jose was an amateur boxer and saxophone player in Chicago. Jose worked in construction for the the railroad and as a Steelworker, retiring from Inland Steel Company. Jose was a giving and loving husband, father and grandfather who blessed his family with his long life full of love, honor and dignity. Jose will be dearly missed for his heart of gold and compassion of others. Donations may be made to Hospice of Calumet in his loving memory.
