Claudia Rosetta (Grimes) Abshire, 86, Anderson, died September 12, 2006 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson Indiana after an extended illness.

She was born April 23, 1920 in Henry County, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana since 1953.

She retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors.

Claudia was a member of New Horizon United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was involved in many ministries for the church. She enjoyed Keenagers and was a member of the Golden Age Senior Citizens. Claudia was also a member of Independent Order of Forresters.

She is survived by her two sons: Paul Abshire of Anderson and Larry & wife Claudia Abshire of Chesterfield. Son-in-law: Morris Hullinger of Anderson. Two sisters: Margaret Givens of Middletown and Edna & husband John Currier of Sturgis, Michigan. Brother: John & wife Mary Miller of Sturgis, Michigan. Four grandchildren: Dr. Vance & wife Dr. Megan Abshire, Valerie & husband Greg Wendling, Jason Abshire & wife Huda and Jeff & wife Lea' Abshire. Six great grandchildren: Eric Abshire, Karen Abshire, Michelle Abshire, Brooke Wendling, Heather Wendling and Layla Abshire.

She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married June 4, 1939: George Marvin Abshire who passed away in November of 1994; Daughter, Dianna Hullinger; Parents, Claude & Lillian (Hall) Grimes; sisters, Ethel McGuire, Lucinda, Luella Maxwell and Clara Justice and a daughter-in-law, Marsha Abshire.

Services will be Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 2:00 PM, at New Horizon United Methodist Church; 611 E. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Rev. Steve Holdzkom officiating.

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
