In Kennewick she worked at Kennewick General Hospital and also Dr. Raymond Kerr. When the family tranfered to Mount Vernon, WA, Jan worked for Dr. Martin Barnes and Ovenell's Nursing Home. Upon the return to Walla Walla in 1984, she worked at Odd Fellows Nursing Home and then went on to assist with teaching at the Walla Walla Community College Nursing School. Jan was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 25 years, with perfect attendance. Her sorority sisters were all very important to her. After the loss of her husband of 53 years, Jan immersed herself in the Walla Walla community by volunteering at St. Vincent's, continuing to attend Assumption Catholic Church, and cheering for DeSales athletes, even without her favorite commentator, Don. Jan is survived by her sons Steve (Kay) Angotti and Sandy (Amber) Angotti, and daughters Sheryl (Steve) Durick and Melody (Stephen) Schroeder, her grandchildren Kyle, Jaline and Sean Durick, Jacob, Stephanee and Paul Schroeder, Travis, Jessica (Peterson), Kymber (Schoenwald), Brittany, Heather and Nakia Angotti, her great-grandchildren Maggie, Wyatt and Levi, her brother David (Bonnie) Sherwood, very special friends Mary Ann Piver, Betty Estensen, her cousin Tini Falbo and numerous other relatives and friends in her beloved town of Walla Walla. Jan was preceded in death by husband Don, her parents George and Esther Sherwood, brothers, Kenneth, Dewey and Eugene, and sister, Carolyn.
