Hap was born William Hocking but legally change his name to Hustis. On January 3 1925 at the age 35 Hap Married then 18 year old Evelyn Laura Hustis. Together they had sons William jr, Patrick and Wayne Hustis. Hap served in the United States Navy in WWI after which he worked for the studios (mostly Universal) for his entire career working in motion picture productions until his retirement from Burt Lancaster Productions in 1966.
