His parents were William W. Davis and Mary E. Boyd Davis. He married Annie Susan Smith in Athens, Clarke County Ga. on Dec. 25, 1892 and was the father of 6 children. Nelle, Newton, Irene, Marie, Nora Bell and Harry.
He was a barber by profession, spending the major portion of his life in that work.
However in the early 1900's he took advantage of every spare moment to study law. He passed the bar examination and was admitted to the bar. He practiced law for several years, only to return to his first love the barber business, working at it until his death.
Having a beautiful, God given Irish tenor voice he was choir director of churches he belonged to.
He was loved and admired by all his family and friends and was a man I am proud to call my Grandfather.
