Clarence I. Keith, 72, of 41 West street, died at Salem Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired chauffeur.

Surviving are his wife, Lena (Short) Keith of Marblehead; two sons, Donald B. of Marblehead and Robert C. Keith of Danvers; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Ross of Arlington; one brother, Ernest Keith of Derry, N.H.; one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Rock of Salem, N.H., and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were private.
