He was a native of Meigs County, Ohio and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW and worked as a mail handler for the Louisville post office.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry A. and Garnet F. Polk Hayman.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bonita R. Hayman; a daughter, Misty Renee Hayman of Ohio; three sons, Jerry Ronald Hayman of Lancaster, Ohio, Patrick Wesley Leiby of Mount Washington and Jerry Lee Hayman of Ohio; six brothers; three sisters; and several grandchildren.
The funeral is at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Tom Wicker officiating. Burial, with full military honors, follows in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and continues at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
