Lunsford D. "LD" Adams of Olden passed away at an Abilene Hosp. late Friday evening. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 Pm at the Edwards Funeral Home of Eastland. Grave side services will be held at 10 Am Tuesday at the Eastland City Cemetery.
LD was born on Dec. 23, 1933 to Hulan and Grace (Pardue), Adams at San Angelo TX. He graduated from school and entered the Army where he was an MP for 4 yrs. He joined the Big Spring Police Dept. as a patrolman. LD met and married Johnnie Dixon on April 20, 1963 in Big Spring TX. He later served as an officer of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission(TACB) in Corpus Christi, Abilene, Eastland and Odessa TX He retired in 1993 after 35 yrs of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his Family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Roger Dale Minchew. Survivors include 2 daughters : April and Husband Nicholas Hood of Brandon MISS. , Julia and husband Dwayne Hunter of Olden. Daughter in Law: Cheri Minchew of McAllister OK, 1 brother: Hulan Adams of Mineral Wells TX and 1 Grandchild Victoria Freeman of Jackson Miss.
