BIG SPRING - Karen Joy Abbott, 48, of Big Spring died Monday, July 27, 1998, in a Lubbock hospital. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with burial in Trinity Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 9, 1949, in Borger and had lived in Big Spring since 1972.

She was a teacher of adult domestic education and had taught GED courses at Howard College and the federal prison.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Abbott of Big Spring; a son, Douglas Wayne Abbott of Roswell, N.M.; her mother, Joy Lewallen of Big Spring; and a brother, David Lewallen of Lubbock.
