Died when the Supermarine Seafire aircraft he was flying for the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve crashed at Adlington Common after apparently exploding in mid air. Buried with full military honours at Appleton Thorn, St Cross Churchyard, Warrington, Cheshire on Thursday, February 16, 1950.Lt Beaumont of 1831 Squadron RNVR, RNAS Blackcap, Stretton was killed when his Seafire (SX129) exploded in the air and crashed at Adlington Common, Chorley.
