JERRY WAYNE ADAMS, Memorial services for Jerry Wayne Adams, 64, Alex, were held on Saturday, September 4 at 2 p.m. in the Alex High School Auditorium with Jim Coale officiating. Adams died on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at his home in Alex. Born on January 9, 1946 in Bakersfield, Calif., he was the son of Hollis Adams and Jimmie Lee Adams. He grew up and lived in many states during his lifetime. Following graduation from Lindsay High School, he entered the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He married Carol Sue Long on September 10, 1968. He was preceded in death by his father, Hollis Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Adams of Alex; two daughters, Gereldene Chaney and husband, Mark Chaney of Ninnekah; Tammy Townsend and husband, Charles Townsend of Chickasha; grandchildren, Melanie Troutman and husband, Tim of Rush Springs; Amber, Clay and Cody Chaney of Ninnekah; Breanna and Clifford Townsend of Chickasha; his mother, Jimmie Lee Adams of Atoka; four sisters, Virginia Finch and husband, Paul; Mary Hood and Sharon Wilp, all of Atoka; Barbara Corter and husband, Jim, Bethel Heights, Ark.; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
