Effie Maxine Oakes, daughter of Robert Lee and Johanna Margarita (Hasenack) Oakes, was born 20/Dec/1920 at Augusta, KS, and died in North Memorial Hospital, at Robbinsdale, MN, 29 Jan 2006 at the age of 85.
Effie was the youngest of five children and was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, Carl and Lee and her sister Margaret.
During their 65 years of marriage, Bob (Robert F. Ambler) and Effie lived in California, Pennsylvania and finally Minnesota.
Effie has been a dedicated wife and mother. She was loving, joyful, playful and kind. She was deeply fond of her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The difficult circumstances of life brought a tenderness that has been a blessing to many. God worked in her life from early days to bring her close to Himself. She was a great student of the Bible and taught Sunday school classes most of her married life.
Effie will be deeply missed, but there is joy through the sorrow knowing her pain and suffering are over and she is now in a better place with her Heavenly Father.
