He was killed by muntiple fragmentation wounds.

He died on May 21, 1967 at the age of 20 from a grenade explosion.

At the time of his death Robert was 20 years of age. He was from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

His body was recovered. The cause of death was listed as Booby Trap.
